Peter's Rescue Kits | Fund A Cause Friday

Thanks to your support, Wufers has donated cookies to Peter's Eagle Scouts Project: Puppy Rescue Packs in support of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
Peter is looking to give back to the community by creating 50 adoption kits for senior and harder to adopt dogs. These kits contain everything a new dog owner could need, and will hopefully be enough of an incentive for people to choose a dog that has been at the shelter longer than most.
"I want to help people get to "yes!". There are wonderful dogs at the Humane Society struggling to find homes. It's usually because of their age, breed, or medical issues. I came up with my Rescue Packs so that, for these dogs, all someone needs to do is say yes. If you adopt one of these special dogs, you will get one of my Rescue Packs."

Each kit includes:
- a crate
- bed
- two small bowls
- two large bowls
- bowl mat
- leash
- collar
- poo bags
- poo bag holder
- assorted toys
- doggy toothpaste
- nail trim certificate
- bath certificate
- A Wufers "Happy Gotcha Day" 6" bone cookie
All of these items were either donated or purchased by family, friends, and the community. Additionally, to help raise funds for this project, Peter setup a lemonade stand in the Humane Society lobby selling lemonade and cookies.

After Hurricane Debby ripped through Florida, residents and local shelters were unable to house lost animals due to flooding, loss of power, and running out of food. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay was able to take in transfers from these residents and other shelters as they deal with their damages. Needless to say, Peter's project could not have come at a better time to help these pups.
