RRUF Program: Rapid Relief Urgency Fund Raises $10,000 CAD for Animal Rescues in South Carolina and Florida

In the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, many communities faced unprecedented challenges, and animal shelters were particularly hard-hit, with facilities damaged, animals displaced, and resources stretched thin. That’s where the Rapid Relief Urgency Fund (RRUF), powered by your generosity, stepped in.

Through this initiative, we raised $10,000 CAD to support four incredible animal rescues in South Carolina and Florida.

These funds were urgently needed, and thanks to your support, they’re already making a tangible difference.

Here’s a closer look at the rescues we’ve been able to support so far:

1. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue has been a beacon of hope for many animals in need, and the RRUF funds will allow them to move into a temporary facility. This facility includes overnight housing for both dogs and cats, dedicated spaces for medical care and recovery for special-needs animals, and essential support for a vast network of animal foster homes. Your support enables Brother Wolf to continue providing critical care during this recovery period.

2. Hardee Animal Rescue Team

Based in Florida, the Hardee Animal Rescue Team is a passionate group of volunteers dedicated to saving stray, abused, and abandoned animals. With the support of RRUF funding, they’re better equipped to rescue animals from animal control facilities when they’re at risk of euthanasia. Hardee’s mission is both noble and urgent, and your donations are giving them the means to save lives.

3. Suncoast Animal League

The Suncoast Animal League faced significant challenges, evacuating their shelter twice in just two weeks. Thankfully, their shelter sustained only minimal damage, and they’ve relied on a dedicated group of local volunteers to foster animals temporarily. With RRUF funds, Suncoast can support ongoing foster care efforts and prepare for any additional challenges.

4. Renegade Paws Rescue

Renegade Paws Rescue also faced multiple evacuations and minimal damage to their shelter. Like Suncoast, they’ve been able to sustain their rescue operations with the help of local volunteers who stepped up to foster their shelter animals. The RRUF funds are giving them much-needed resources to continue these operations.
