How To Celebrate Easter Safely With Your Pup
It’s time to celebrate Easter, and here at Wufers we believe your pup deserves to to join the paw-ty and celebrations. While Easter can be a fun time for your dog, there are some important do’s and don’ts to keep in mind to keep your pup safe.
DO get creative with the treats 🐰
Give your pup a special Easter treat. Look for treats specifically made for dogs, or create your own special dog-friendly recipe. Our new 'Hey There Hop Stuff' Cookie Collection and 'Paw-casso DIY Egg kit' are egg-cellent for the occasion.
DON'T give your pup any chocolate
It is important to remember that chocolate can be toxic to dogs and It's best to not give it to them. Chocolate contains theobromine, a chemical that is toxic to dogs, and can cause serious medical problems, including vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and even death. Instead of giving chocolate to your pup, stick to dog-safe treats and snacks that are specially made for them.
DO take your pup for a nice, long Easter walk
Taking your dog for a nice long walk is one of the best things you can do for them. Not only does it provide them with much-needed exercise, but it also gives them a chance to explore the world around them. A walk can provide them with an opportunity to sniff around and take in new sights and smells. It can also be beneficial for their mental health, as it provides them with the chance to interact with their environment and other dogs. Taking your pup on a leisurely stroll can also be a great bonding experience, as it gives you both a chance to spend quality time together on this special holiday.DO
DON'T leave your pup alone with Easter decor
All holiday decorations can be a hazard for dogs, especially if they are made from materials that can be easily chewed or ingested. Tinsel, ribbons and garlands can be especially dangerous if ingested, as they can cause intestinal blockages that can be fatal. Furthermore, decorations such as electric lights and candles can also be a hazard if a dog chews on them or knocks them over. To ensure your pet’s safety, keep decorations out of reach and avoid using decorations that are made with materials that can easily be chewed. Additionally, it’s important to supervise your dog while they are around decorations to ensure they don’t get into any trouble.
DO let your pup join in the egg hunt!
It can be lots of fun to let your dog join in the Easter egg hunt! Not only is it a great way to give your pup some exercise, but it can also be a fun bonding activity for you both. You can make sure your pup has a safe and enjoyable egg hunt by hiding the eggs in areas that are easy for them to access, such as low shrubs or bushes. Be sure to supervise your pup during the egg hunt to make sure that they don’t eat any of the eggs, and also to make sure that they don’t wander off too far.
