Happy National Pet Day! Today is a wonderful day to give special attention to our beloved furry, feathered, and scaly friends. We all know that our pets provide us with unconditional love and companionship, so let’s take some extra time to celebrate their special place in our lives.
Here at Wufers we appreciate all pets and living things but have a special place in our hearts for pups, so in celebration of National Pet Day we’re listing the reasons we know that having a dog in the family is the absolute best.
Feed your dog a healthy diet
Choose a diet that contains natural, high-quality ingredients, and avoid artificial preservatives and flavorings. 3. Reduce, reuse and recycle:
Recycle when you can
Reuse pet products and donate items like blankets and toys to shelters. Recycle pet food containers, and look for ways to reduce packaging and waste.
Go green!
Choose green grooming products when you can. Look for grooming products made with natural ingredients, free of harsh chemicals and dyes. Many pet stores now offer environmentally friendly pet products, such as biodegradable waste bags, natural flea and tick treatments, and pet beds made with recycled materials.
Advocate for animal welfare
Educate yourself on animal welfare issues and support organizations that are working to improve the lives of animals.
Spay or neuter your pet
Puppies are the cutest, but we can't deny the problem of animal overpopulation. Neautering will help reduce the number of unwanted pets and help prevent animal overpopulation.

Planting your own pet-friendly garden is a great way to reduce your environmental footprint. Choose pet-safe plants that are both attractive and beneficial to the environment.
Compost pet waste
If your pet does not produce a lot of waste, composting can greatly reduce your environmental impact. Even small amounts of pet waste can make a difference when composted.
