"Ninee and I have been attached at the hip for nearly 12 years now. From snoring loudly next to my desk while I’m on video calls to countless hikes, boat rides, canoes and kayaks, airplanes, subway trains, and very, very long drives, we’re hardly ever apart. Calm, cool, and always down to nap, she lives for the moment and rarely gets rattled – just be ready when a squirrel passes by, and know that if you drop any food, she’s probably already got it.
In February of 2020, I found a lump in her abdomen that turned out to be a large tumour; devastating news, but my little old lady underwent a major surgery, then shrugged it off in days like it never happened. Through big changes and ordinary days, I’m grateful for every single minute she’s by my side."

"I found Snowflake on the stairs of my apartment building on a cold December morning. I heard a strange sound and found a small kitten, not much bigger than my the palm of hand. It was obvious the kitten had not eaten in days and had a wound on her tiny nose. She was barely alive. I took her home, gave her some food and placed her on the radiator warm up and get some sleep.
In just a few days, a bath and a couple of visits to the vet, Snowflake recovered and turned into a beautiful and energetic kitten, that liked to be the included in everything that was going on in the house. She would lay on my keyboard when I worked, follow me around house, and would often surprise me with the unbelievable places she’d find to lay in the sun, like in the flower pot. Why not!"
*We've declared Snowflake an honorary dog – we love our cat pals, too!

"My dad brought Genie home when she was a tiny puppy, and I instantly fell in love with her big brown eyes, soft ears, and gentle spirit. She was quiet and calm, but loved to play, making us laugh with her tiny growl and chasing us around the house. Her favorite pastimes were sleeping in her chair, eating peas and strawberries off the plants in the garden, and stealing toilet paper off the roll and ripping it up into a hundred pieces.
Genie looked like a princess, but she wasn't afraid to get dirty. Very dirty. We'd come back from an adventure and both be covered in mud and burrs, which I would have to pick one-by-one from her long wavy fur. At night she would curl up under the blankets at the end of my bed, and sometimes I'd sneak her chips (don't ask me why I had chips by my bed). She loved me even after I'd dress her up in doll clothes, and I'll never forget her unending devotion. And those ears. Those soft, soft ears. ❤️"
