7+ Ways to throw a safe and happy BBQ for your pup
Did somebody say sausages? We declare BBQ season officially open, and here at Wufers we’re excited about longer nights and warmer days. If you're a dog owner who loves to grill and host outdoor gatherings, you may be wondering how you can safely include your furry friend in the festivities. Here are 7+ ways to throw a safe and happy BBQ for your pup.
Set up a shaded area
Make sure your dog has a shaded area to rest in during the BBQ. Dogs can easily become overheated in the sun, especially if they have a thick coat or are older.
Provide plenty of water
Make sure your dog has access to plenty of fresh water throughout the BBQ. You can even freeze some water in a bowl or bucket to create a cool and refreshing treat for your pup.
Keep dangerous foods out of reach
Make sure to keep any dangerous foods out of your dog's reach. Common BBQ foods like chocolate, onions, grapes, and avocado can be toxic to dogs. Also, make sure that your guests know not to feed your dog any table scraps or BBQ leftovers.
Provide dog-friendly snacks
If you want to include your dog in the BBQ feast, provide some dog-friendly snacks like cooked meat or vegetables. Just make sure to avoid giving your dog anything with bones or small, sharp pieces that could be a choking hazard.
